I NEED YOUR HELP!

I’m going behind bars for “GOOD”
PLEASE HELP BAIL ME OUT!

I’m getting called into jail and my bond is $800. And Unfortunately my lockup date is TOMORROW! I just found out last week that my name was given to be locked up for Muscular Dystrophy. I go to jail tomorrow at noon and then I’m given a verdict. If I come up with my $800 I don’t have to sit in a jail cell with everyone else, and I get to eat a wonderful lunch from Jan’s Catering Service.  Your donation is my key to freedom! Be proud of the fact that together we’re providing help andhope to kids and adults served by MDA in our community.

Either Click on the Locked-up picture or go here to donate!

Thanks for making a difference!

Here’s my thought….

You havent really seen me do anything political on this blog. I’m just not that type of person I guess. I don’t like causing conflict, I hate being in conflict so unless I really know you and know that would not get offended, I don’t say anything. But I had to post this..

I know there are tons of people out there sick as a dog, worried about what is going to happen to our nation. I was one of them.

I used to be extremely pessimistic.. Then I don’t know what happened.. Something happened in the past couple of years and I’m just now a “glass is half-full” kind of girl. But for the last couple weeks and of course the last 24 hours, I have really been down. It kind of reminded me of how I used to be. I saw no hope. This change that they talk about is going to be effecting West TX alot.. not just TX, there is all the other oil states, Colorado, Wyoming, Louisiana to name a few.. What is going to happen to my job? Our trucks haul water to and from drilling rigs, that business is going to slow down. Does that mean they’ll have to start letting some people go?? My husband works in the oilfield, hell, pretty much half my family does. What is this is going to do to us?

I know change was (or is) upon us. Its inevitable. Whoever was going to be elected was going to bring some kind of change. And I welcomed that. But I was having doubts. Still am actually. But after reading a blog that my friend Staci posted, I re-adjusted my attitude. Whats done is done. McCain wasn’t elected and there really isn’t anything we can do about it now (and what scares me the most is that both the house and senate are dominated by democrats). All we can do is pray that everything turns out for the best. God won’t let us go down a path that is bad. He will be there, just keep your faith in Him. So anyway, here is Staci’s post. Please don’t send me hate comments or mail over this, I just think this particular post needs to be out there. It was very well written and I’m glad that she posted it. It’s titled “If you believe in God, then read this.”

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I really think we just have to put our trust in Him that we will be ok no matter who our president is.
He knew the outcome of this election before we even knew who the candidates were going to be. He STILL knows what he is doing and although it is not the choice that many of us wanted as a president, and although many of us are worried, I really feel like NOW is the best time to have faith that God will see us through this.
I don’t agree that Obama is the antichrist that is spoken of in the Bible. I don’t KNOW what is going to happen to our country from day to day, neither do you, neither does CNN or FoxsNews or the associated press. If you believe in God, and you know anything about your Bible, you will know that none of us will know outright who the antichrist is. He is not going to just show up one day and say. “Hey, I’m the Antichrist!”…there are a lot of events that will lead up to his appearance.
I don’t feel as if this is going to be the start of the tribulation that is spoken of in the Bible. *IF* it is, and *IF* you are a born again Christian, then you should know that the born again Christians will not be HERE during the tribulation.
I hope that Obama does not deliberately screw our country. I know that he is for abortion and things of that nature. But we, as voting Republicans, made our voice be heard, and although John McCain didn’t make it at president, there IS a reason why. There IS a reason for everything.
I am worried just like most of you are, as my income comes from the wells of this country, either wells filled with natural gas or with oil. People, the oil fields may SLOW down, but they can’t completely shut down the oil field. We HAVE to have oil to run EVERYTHING. There is no way in hell that the oil fields are going to just shut down. If they do slow down, which is a possibility, then that IS the chance that we take while putting our faith into that profession. Where there is a boom there is always a bust. Everyone, including ourselves, have brought the big bucks in and just spent it as if there is no tomorrow. Well, that “no tomorrow” may be looming around the corner, and no one is prepared.
Like I said, everything runs off of oil. If they try and make a car that runs off or vegetable oil, think of the MILLIONS of cars all over the world that are still running off gas and oil. If they create heaters and furnaces for our houses that run off of whatever, then there are still MILLIONS of houses and establishments that will have regular heaters. Now should just be an eye-opener that we need to stop spending so frivolously.
They have gone through this in the past, the oil and gas field fluctuates, But seriously, I don’t see oil ever being like $30/bbl again. I don’t see gas ever getting down to $1.19/gal again. Our economy here in West Texas can still thrive and be ok even if oil dips down to $30/bbl people! Everyone has just gotten used to having oil being over $75/bbl.
Anyways, I could be wrong. But I just don’t think that God is going to allow our country to go completely down the drain. This country IS getting to be more liberal in its ideas. What with abortions, gay marriages, taking God completely out of everything that this country was built upon…I KNOW THAT. But there are still Christians out there that need to be the voice for all Christians. If you are a Christian and you don’t like the way that this nation is being ran, then do something about it, don’t merely sit back and complain. Write to your senators, they are the ones who go to the president and speak for their individual state. Thats why it doesn’t just matter who your president is, it also matters who you elect as your senator and your state representative.
And lastly, if Christianity is so wrong, then I would like to know why so many years ago people were moving over here by the thousands to build a country that offered freedom of religion. So that they could worship God without persecution. Our forefathers, who created this country, who laid the foundation for this country on biblical beliefs, wouldn’t stand a CHANCE in ANY kind of political office today. They would be laughed at, mocked, ridiculed, and shunned. But yet, they CREATED this AWESOME country on the beliefs that God is the ruler of this nation. Almost the entire majority of the men who wrote the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence were in fact CHRISTIANS.
The men that we all admire most were CHRISTIANS…George Washington, Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Jefferson, John Hancock, Abraham Lincoln, even Martin Luther King, Jr. And I am sorry, but they would be shocked, saddened and ashamed for the state of our nation as of now. It’s not just the Republicans and the Democrats…its the PEOPLE of our nation who are letting it get out of hand.
So now that Obama is our new president, I can only hope that God hears my prayers, and everyone elses that we will be ok.
We need to stop asking God to bless America, and start asking America to bless God.
-Staci
P.S. Even if John McCain had won presidency, I would STILL pray that God continues to bless this country
Prematurity Awareness Month
November is is a pretty important month for me.. *Especially this year because Twilight is coming out* lol. November has quite a few birthdays, Thanksgiving and one of the most important causes in my life get to have the limelight for a whole month. November is known as Prematurity Awareness Month and I try my hardest to help spread the word.
PAM
I’m not going to go into story because I’m sure quite a few are tired of hearing it, but if you want to read Shaye’s story and see why we walk, click here.  Anyway, I wanted to get the word out that there are many ways you can help donate to aid in the research of prematurity. Click here to go to the March of Dimes Prematurity Awareness Month page. There they list the different ways in helping.
There are two ways I currently donate to the cause. The March of Dimes still has their fundraiser called ‘Change for Babies‘. All they ask is for you to keep up with your spare change. Take it to a coinstar and donate it to the March of Dimes.
And of course there is always March for Babies every spring. Our walk page is up year round, it resets every January but you can still donate throughout the year. Please help. I’m not asking for a million dollars, if you can only spare $1 that is fine, because every dollar counts.. They didn’t have that dollar a second ago and it could do wonders. Below is my work in progress video of Shaye through the years :D Thought i would add it on for effect lol..
Happy Late Halloween :D
Filed under: Blogging, Family, Friends, Holiday, Pictures — Tags: , , — Stephanie @ 10:00 am
Yup, I’m a day late and a dollar short :D But we did have a good halloween. The girls really banked on the candy so I’ll be secretly trying to figure out how to get it out of the house w/o them noticing hehe..  Yesterday the girls and I went to the annual spook parade in Kermit. For those who don’t know what that is, all the local business and organizations get together and and let the kids walk around a small area of the town to trick or treat. That way they don’t have to walk around in the dark, house to house to get candy. I love this parade because by the time its over, Shaye is wiped out lol.. Anyway, this is going to be a short post today, we are getting ready to go to Odessa and then head to Denver city to see Mac. Here is a slideshow of the girls and friends at the parade. If you are reading this in the email post, click here to see the slideshow.
Carving Pumpkins
Filed under: Don't Forget this!, Family, Friends, Holiday, Pictures — Tags: , , , , , , — Stephanie @ 11:58 am
Last nigh Shaye and I went over to Julie’s house to carve pumpkins. I haven’t carved a pumpkin in years and i forgot all about how long they took. I think we started about 7:30 and it was well after 9 when we finally finished. Julie was a big weenie and wouldn’ touch any of the insides of the pumpkin so Marc and I got the wonderful job of scraping.
It was pretty fun even though it ended up me and Julie doing all the work and the kids laying in the living room, watching t.v. I think we’ll have to do this again next year but Julie and I both agreed that next time we will be starting right after work.. It felt like it took forever. Anyway, here are some pics from last night. We never got to light Shaye’s up so if you can’t tell from the picture, it’s a witch. I’ll get a shot of it tonight or tomorrow night of it lit up.
Notes from the internet on redistibution of wealth
Today on my way to lunch I passed a homeless guy with a sign that read “Vote obama, I need the money.” I laughed.
Once in the restaurant my server had on an “Obama 08″ tie, again I laughed…just imagine the coincidence.
When the bill came I decided not to tip the server and explained to him that I was exploring the Obama redistribution of wealth concept. He stood there in disbelief while I told him that I was going to redistribute his tip to someone who i deemed more in need — the homeless guy outside.
The server angrily stormed from the sight.
I went outside, gave the homeless guy $10 and told him to thank the server inside as I’ve decided he could use the money more. The homeless guy awas grateful.
At the end of my rather unscientific redistribution experiement I realized the homeless guy was grateful for the money he did not earn but the waiter was pretty  angry that I gave away the money h did earn even though the actual recipient deserved money more.
I guess redistribution of wealth is an easier thing to swallow in concept than in practical application.
OR IS IT…REDISTRIBUTION OF SOMEONE ELSE’S WEALTH IS A GREAT IDEA… or just a “fool’s political game”!!!
Happy Birthday Dani!
Filed under: Uncategorized — Stephanie @ 1:26 pm
Yesterday was Dani’s 13th birthday. Can you believe that? A teenager!! Last night Shaye and i went to Odessa for her band concert. It was just a short concert and we were a little late so we only heard 1 1/2 songs. :P But from what I can tell they are doing amazingly well and i can’t wait to go to the Christmas Concert. I’m hoping when that rolls around I’ll remember to take a camera for video and pictures.. I think I had a brain fart last night :D
We decided this year,  since Dani is getting older and she has more and more homework that needs a computer, to buy her a laptop. She didn’t know we were going to, I just took her to Best Buy and gave her 3 choices and she picked one.. I don’t think I’ve ever seen her so excited. I am thinking poor Mandi though because Dani is never off of that thing.. lol oh well :D
I’m hoping to have more pictures this weekend after the annual ‘Spook Parade’ and trick or treating.. I’m not sure of Dani’s costume but Shaye will be a witch.
Mac’s Home Away from Home
Filed under: Blogging, Family, Goals, Life — Tags: , , , — Stephanie @ 3:51 pm
Mac has been stuck in Denver City since the 2nd (i think) and he’s probably going to be there quite a while longer. The girls and I went to see him on Sunday and we had a pretty good time. I wish I had had my video camera with me because the girls were so excited. All Shaye could do was yell, “Daddy! Daddy!” over and over again… Dani jumped out of the truck to latch on to Mac and wouldn’t let him go for a good 5 minutes. It’s tough right now with him being gone for this long of a time but I’m trying to stay positive. The goal is to save enough money to pay off student loans, take care of other debts and have enough money for him to go to school.. Thats the big goal, school. I hope he gets there :D
